Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A-B01 13.3-Inch Laptop has been a true-life saver considering my line of work, which requires me to be on the road most of the time. At any given moment, my job might require me to pack up and travel, I need to have my small but effective office with me, and this includes bringing the Samsung Series 9. At first, I had my doubts if the Series 9 will be able to cope with my demanding line of work. With that said, I feel it would be appropriate to give this laptop a proper review, so let us get started.

I will start with the great parts of this Series 9 laptop and finish of with the flaws. The Samsung Series 9 for starters has a backlit keyboard a great feature when I am working with limited lighting. I am sure some of you might have come across reviews stating that the Series 9 is noisy, well I am here to tell it is not true. The Series 9 is one of the quietest laptops I have ever used. Speed plus power will enable you to run graphical software such as Flash or Photoshop on the Series 9 with ease. In addition, the Series 9 can handle sound software like FL Studio and Audition. Actions like copying, pasting internal/external is a breeze due to USB 3.0 and SSD file management.

I was using a Compaq Presario V3600 which had a poorly dim lit screen and proved difficult to see say when working outside. However, this is not the case with the Series 9, the screen is bright and I have been able to use in just about any lighting condition with out any visual difficulty. Since I travel a lot and still need to look professional, the Series 9 is lightweight, slick and slim. The boot speed of the Series 9 is fast by any standards i.e. less than 20 seconds when shut down and around 4 seconds in sleep mode, impressive right.

Humankind is not 100% perfect therefore how is it anyone can expect anything by man be flawless such as with the Series 9. The sound speakers on this laptop are not that good hence I use my Logitech headphones if I need to listen to some music alternatively I can use my Edifier speakers. However, to me even though Samsung could have improved the speaker sound quality I am not that much bothered by it. Flaw number two is the bad touch pad on the Series 9. I am not sure whether to say the touch pad is bad or super sensitive. I know some might say use a mouse and I do but not every set up will allow me to use a mouse. The issue with the Series 9 touch pad is that when typing like now, you need to make sure you do not get too close to it or you will find yourself typing where you have typed something already.

Finally, if these two issues I outlined as cons are not much of a bother to you then the Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A-B01 13.3-Inch Laptop is right for you.

Samsung R451c Review - Straight Talk and Net10

The Samsung r451c came out in mid October, and is currently available for Net10 and Straight Talk. I've been using it with Straight Talk service, and I'm going to give you a quick review of this phone.

This phone was released shortly after the very similar T401g Net10 phone, and it also includes a QWERTY keyboard. Besides the keyboard, it has an mp3 player and 1.3 megapixel camera, very similar to the T401g. However, the r451c does NOT include a camcorder.

The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is a big selling point for many people who are considering this phone. This keyboard has four rows of keys, which are a soft rubbery material.

I haven't used this phone quite as much as I use the T401g, but on either phone I do like the addition of the QWERTY keyboard. Especially if you do a lot of texting, it will probably save you some time. Like I mentioned in my T401g review, though, using the QWERTY pretty much requires using two hands to text. Of course, if you want to text one-handed you can always keep the slider closed and use the regular keypad with T9 predictive text.

Now, I'll give a description of the other buttons on the Samsung r451c. On the left side is the rocker switch to adjust the call volume. On some models, these same buttons can be used to change ringtone volume when you're NOT in a call, but that's not the case here. On this model, there's a separate button to open the ringtone settings.

Over on the right side is a dual-purpose shortcut key. It doesn't do anything when the phone is locked. If the phone is unlocked, a single click of the button loads the camera function. Or, if you press and hold the button, it will load the mp3 player.

Farther up the right side is the connector that is used for the charger, and USB cable. I believe it could also work with a Samsung-branded stereo headset, but I haven't tried that personally.

On the top of the phone is a standard headset jack. This is a pretty universal connector type, but if you want to listen to music with stereo headphones, you'll have to be careful to get the right connector. Most music headphones use a 3.5mm jack, while phone headsets are usually 2.5mm. I was also able to use an adapter with my regular music headphones to listen to the mp3 player. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure to get the right size connector if you're buying accessories for this phone.

One other thing worth mentioning here is that under the battery cover is the microSD card slot. You can use these cards to store mp3s and pictures, and to transfer files to and from your computer or other device.

Next, let's take a look at the mp3 player. It's nearly identical to the player on the T401g, and both players are nicer than the Motorola EM326g. The sound is okay through the built-in speaker, which surprised me. Of course, if you're listening for very long, you'll probably want to use headphones. And Bluetooth is also an option for listening to music, if you have a stereo bluetooth headset.

I know that the mp3 player is a big attraction for many people looking to upgrade their phone, so I wanted to say a little more about it. While the audio quality is good, this phone probably isn't going to replace your stand-alone mp3 player or iPod. The playlists are hard to use and I couldn't get my songs to play in the order I wanted - they played alphabetically according to the song title. Even songs on the same album played alphabetically rather than album order. Also, the player doesn't remember where you left off when you close it out. So there are some significant drawbacks to the music player feature.

Finally, a little bit about the camera - it's pretty standard. There are a few editing features you can do on the phone, but there's no digital zoom, so you'll have to do that with photo editing software after the picture is taken. The camera resolution is 1.3 megapixels, which is probably good enough to do small prints - 3 x 5 or 4 x 6, but certainly no bigger than that. So, it's a pretty basic camera for a modern cell phone.

There's a quick overview of the Samsung r451c. To sum it up, it's a pretty solid phone. In my testing, battery life and reception were very good, and the display is big and bright. Call quality wasn't quite as good as the EM326g or the LG 290c, but it's still pretty good. And of course, the QWERTY keyboard makes texting really easy. All in all, I like it. I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5.

It's currently selling for $80, and it's recently been showing up in some stores. It's also now available from Net10's website, where you can get it for $72 using the discounts codes I recommend, and the Straight Talk Version is available from Straight Talk's site. If you are the owner of a small business, you need to know that the maintenance of this printer costs a lot. Instead, you should opt for a less expensive color inkjet printer. 

The printing speed is only 16 pages per minute in black and white. When we talk about full color pages, things are totally different. It has a very low printing speed of just 4 pages per minute in full color. Because of this fact this printer can be below other old technology inkjet printers. 

However, it prints at a resolution of 2400 x 600 dots per inch, which is very good. A high resolution means a higher quality of printing. Although the resolution is very high, it still cannot make up the disadvantage of a low printing speed and high price.

With the virtual buttons in the System Bar, you can easily go Back, Home, or to Recent Apps. Going from one task to a different one is super easy with the Recent Apps button. A list shows thumbnail images of your recently used apps. Just tap a thumbnail and you're taken to an app.

The new home screen folders are really cool. They allow you to group your apps and shortcuts in a very logical way. Just drag one and drop on to another.

There's plenty more that you will appreciate about Ice Cream Sandwich.

Some of the new features on the Galaxy S3 are really impressive.

The S Voice is a voice recognition service similar to Siri. It's adequate, but not always accurate. You can give certain commands to the phone like wake up, answer a call, or take a picture.

Smart Stay uses the front-facing camera to occasionally check for eyes looking at it. If it doesn't 'see' a set of eyes, the screen will turn off to save power.

Smart Call will dial the number of a contact that you are viewing if you lift the phone to your ear.

Say you're writing a message to someone but decide that you want to talk instead. No problem. Put the phone to your ear, and your contact will be dialed automatically.

The Best Photo feature will choose the better of eight continuous photos.

Do you tend to miss calls and messages? You'll appreciate Smart Alert. It will alert you of missed calls and messages with a soft vibration or tune.

Camera

The S3's camera has 8MP, and it takes better than average looking photos. You can also record HD 1080p videos.

Battery Power

It's not a sexy feature, but I'm sure you would agree that battery power is important. Well you'll be happy to know that along with plenty of shiny new features to play with, the S3 has a battery that lasts.

Performance

Have a need for speed? If you're like most other people, the answer is yes of course! Well the Galaxy S3 doesn't disappoint. It packs quite the power punch. You can place lots of demand on the phone without much of a slow-down in speed.

Call quality and clarity also gets two thumbs up.

Conclusion

With a bigger screen, new features, lots of speed and power, most owners of the   Samsung Galaxy S3 will be quite happy with their toy.
